You've probably been to a castle or at least seen one from the outside. For example, when driving by. Most of the castles are on a mountain or in a park and they are definitely very old.
Some of them are pretty scary, right?
Can you imagine spending the night alone in such a castle? No, right? Probably you would be a little scared. By the way, I would be, too.
The castle itself also has a queasy feeling when all visitors and supervisors go home in the evening. The poor castle then has to sleep alone, with the dark, cold boughs and lots of spiders in the attic, bats, squeaky window frames and creaky wooden floors ...
But so that the castles do not tremble with fear and destroy the walls and cannot fall asleep, there is the so-called castle night fish.
It is very big and nice. It always comes in the evening and then in the morning. This castle night fish swallows the castle every night and spits it out again at sunrise - so the castle does not have to be alone, but can sleep with other castles, in the warm fish belly, more specifically in a castle night fish belly.
Of course, they play a bit before falling asleep. And sometimes the castle with most of the books - most of the castles have big libraries in them - reads good night stories to other castles.
I photographed this fish while it was devouring the Nymphenburg Castle in Munich.
Every morning it spits out the castles. Early enough and on time for the opening hours, so that the tourists do not notice anything.
When they come, every castle is simply there again, fresh and well rested.
The fish does in in winter…
It does it in spring…
It does it in summer… And it does it in autumn, too.
My key takeaways:
1. THINGS ARE ALIVE. TREAT THEM ACCORDINGLY.
2. A GOOD NIGHT IS NOT OBVIOUS. BE GRATEFUL FOR YOURS.
3. IF THINGS LOOK THE SAME IN THE MORNING AS THEY DID YESTERDAY, YOU MIGHT HAVE JUST MISSED A CHANGE THAT HAPPENED WHEN YOU WERE SLEEPING.
Based on this book The castle and the fish and other stories.

How to lead now…
